“Since the launch of the Setia Adoption Programme in 2000, the Foundation has spent approximately RM14.1 million to carry out the programme,” said Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, Chairman of S P Setia Foundation.
The aim of the Setia Adoption Programme (SAP) is to fund the educational needs of underprivileged students nationwide. Since 2004, the programme has been extended from only primary school students to secondary school students as well.
Lee along with Foundation Trustee Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Aseh Bin Che Mat, S P Setia Berhad Group Managing Director Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin and SJK (T) Thiruvalluvar, Kedah Headmistress Puan R Premalah were on hand to present the awards to the excited children who attended the ceremony with their proud parents.
